Jill Leventon.

2018 Course listing coming soon.

Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th July
Students will learn the 'secrets' of enamelling and recognise the characteristics of opaque and transparent enamels both under- and over-fired. You will prepare the metal for enamelling and sample a selection of the following processes: controlled sifting and firing; masking and stencilling; decorative media, including gold and silver leaf and foil; how to use wet process enamels; cloisonné and wet-laying enamels and the use of copper shim for texture and modelling. After the initial introduction to enamelling, the direction of the course will be student led so that by the end you will be the proud possessor of some beautiful enamelled pieces, from pendants to pictures - the choice will be yours!
Metal will be at cost price, between £2.50 and £10 per day depending on the amount used.
