'Landscape - land, lines and textures'
|2018 Course listing coming soon.|
Monday 24th to Friday 28th July
Through intuitive experimentation in response to personal landscape themes, you will develop skills in composition, working with abstraction and simplification to create an impressionistic sense of place. Explore the textural qualities of paper combined with colour, fabric and thread to form unique surfaces for stitch, and discover the potential of stitched lines and texture through drawing in free machine stitch. Take pleasure in developing a collection of paper fabric and mixed media samples through to a more complete piece of work. The course is suitable for those with hand stitch, free machine embroidery skills and basic drawing and painting ability, as well as the more experienced. Above all bring an open mind and a willingness to experiment!
There will be a £15 materials cost.
