During this workshop you will learn how to select suitable images and reference materials; how to use a squeegee to push ink through a screen; creating images using cut or ripped stencils and the use of layering to produce instant, bold prints.
|Mixed media papercloth New
On day one we will make sheets of paper-cloth by laminating decorative, recycled and tissue papers onto muslin. Once they are dry we will decorate them using paints, inks, printing and stamping techniques.
This course is suitable for anyone who would like to make their own blank sketchbooks, notebooks and gift books.

I will teach the technique of twining to enable the making of small textured woven pods. Twining involves the weaving of two threads using the fingertips, whilst the form is held in the hands.

Using mixed media and stitch, printing blocks, fonts, bronzing powders, paint and metal shim to create letters and tiles. Appliqué these to an embroidered background of stumpwork creatures, fruits and perhaps some calligraphy.

During this course students will study artists such as Klimt, Kandinsky and Hundertwasser to help generate ideas for design and stitch on velvet. You will experiment with white and black velvet.
