Wednesday 31st July to Friday 2nd August
JMW Turner is one of Britain's favourite artists and his work still has a contemporary freshness. We will be examining
his later artworks and do a painting in a similar style. There will be plenty of demonstrations, using modern
materials for glazing and thick impasto. In order to get an insight into Turner's work, please try to view the DVD
Mr Turner starring Timothy Spall as JMW; and visit The Turner Room at Tate Britain before the course. You will
be able to paint two large panels 24" x 30" and will have step-by-step guidance throughout the course. Suitable
intermediate level or anyone who has completed a beginner course such as 'Oils from scratch'.
Materials cost £25 and includes 2 large panels, sample canvasses, oils, brushes, palette knives, solvent etc.
