Monday 27th July to Saturday 1st August
David will introduce you to basic techniques
in drawing with line and tone and with
painting in acrylic paint to achieve likeness
and expressive portraits. Using pencil, charcoal
and paper you will look at proportion,
shading, expression and capturing facial
characteristics. You will also learn about human
anatomy, and understand more about
drawing and mark making. Finally, taking
your skills and understanding from drawing
to painting in acrylics, you will learn how to
mix colour and experiment with applying
acrylic paints and mediums using a variety
of methods and techniques. Beginners and
more advanced artists are welcome.
A 'to bring' list will be provided by the tutor and
there will be a materials cost of £5 for some items
provided by the tutor. An easel is required for this
DAVID BANNISTER is an artist
with many years' experience in art
and design. Graduating from
Camberwell School of Art in the late
1980's, David has worked as a scenic
artist, graphic designer and illustrator.
He has a passion for drawing and for
visual commentary. Most recently
he has concentrated his efforts on
portraits of world leaders, politicians
and persons in the public arena.
His work is illustrated also in his
landscape and imaginative portfolio.
