Monday 27th July to Saturday 1st August
Enjoy a creative week making stained glass.
The first day is spent learning new skills;
beginners will work on an exercise to make a
small leaded panel. You will be able to
experiment with ideas and techniques and
work on a variety of projects. Options include
glass painting, making a garden panel, small
hanging pieces or a panel which could be
installed in your home. Everyone will learn
how to develop a design, prepare a cutline
template, cut glass, assemble the pieces
together with lead, solder and cement the
panel. Tuition will be through group
demonstrations and individual guidance.
All ability levels welcome. Good manual dexterity is
required. Please note that we will be using lead so this
course is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant.
Material costs are payable by cash or cheque to
the tutor. An A4 panel will cost £45, a garden panel
£30. There is a £10 fee for tool hire, for use of
specialist glass paint, brushes and kiln firings.
NICOLA KANTOROWICZ has
been making stained glass for many
years. Her commissioned windows
can be seen in churches around the
country. Recent projects include two
rose windows for Banbury Town
Hall. She also works on smaller
projects which explore her love
of colour and pattern. She enjoys
helping her students to realise their
ideas in glass.
