Saturday 27th March to Sunday 28th March
Cezanne influenced impressionists,
expressionists, cubists and colourists. He was
admired by many younger artists from Monet
to Matisse and Picasso. We will look at his
landscapes and still-life compositions, working
with outlines that smudge into the forms
and looking at volume created by faceting
the shapes. During the workshop we'll
emulate his technique of painting which
is direct, painterly and fresh. The methods
will be broken into easy to follow steps so
that you will be able create a piece of work
that is original and offers you a new way of
looking. All materials will be supplied and
each person should be able complete two
pieces of work. The course is not suitable
for beginners.
Materials cost £12 and includes canvasses, oils,
brushes, palette knives, solvent etc. You are
welcome to bring your own transportable easel.
