Gelli printing is a way of making one-off
prints from a gelatine like base plate. it is
a fast process and extremely addictive!
Whether you have no idea what gelli printing
is, or have a gelli plate never used it, or
would like a refresher of some of the
techniques, then you are most welcome
on this course. During the 2 days we cover
many techniques including mark making,
direct painting, stencilling, stamping,
printing with plants, magazine image
transfers and more. These techniques can
be used for representational work or can
be completely abstract pieces. We will also
explore collage to make some more finished
pieces. Be prepared to experiment and you
will go home with an arm full of prints!
There will be a materials cost of £10 per student.

JANINA MAHER is a bookbinder
and mixed media artist working from
her garden based studio in Reading.
She loves experimenting with new
materials and ideas in these various
art forms, and has been teaching
bookbinding, gelli printing and mixed
media techniques for several years
across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
