Day 1 - Use a range of mixed media methods to begin to create your own landscape from imagination or photographs. You will experiment by manipulating and dyeing your own fabrics, creating heavily stitched surfaces with chunky texture and contemporary stitch techniques. Then experiments using inks, bleach and explore printing with found objects to colour your samples. Finish the day by creating embellishments with air-dry clay.

Day 2 - Once you have a collection of dry samples I will share my methods of constructing these pieces into hangings using stitch, wrapping, trapping and binding. Manipulate materials with a range of tools and finish off your piece with machine sewing, hand stitch and learn how to add your tactile embellishments for decoration.
