Suitable for a range of abilities including beginners, you will be using fine merino wool in a wonderful range of colours to create floaty, soft as a feather cobweb felt. Using a very simple method this technique can be employed to create beautiful scarves.

Cobweb felt is created by a lacework of textures and can be used to make scarves and wraps. Nuno felt is made by using merino and the wet-felting process to turn silk and muslin fabrics into a gorgeous drapeable textile that can be used to construct garments, scarves, wraps and many other wearables.

Skills/Techniques Covered

  • Lay down fibres in preparation for the felting process
  • The correct way to make felt and felted items
  • How to use colour and colour mixing
  • How to combine and include other fibres and fabrics into cobweb and Nuno felt

Please bring with you

Notebook and pen, camera (or phone that takes pictures), fabric scissors, apron, hand cream.

Materials Costs to Students

All materials will be provided by the tutor. The approximate cost of these will be £25, payable to the tutor during the course.
