This is a three day course for anyone wishing to extend their mark making and drawing vocabulary. The first two days will start with mark making experiments using a variety of materials on various surfaces both wet and dry. These will lead into longer exercises incorporating some of these techniques and in response to different words, objects and music. At the end of each stage there will be a time of evaluation and sharing of ideas and leading to drawings incorporating some of these outcomes.

The third day will offer an opportunity for participants to work more freely on longer and more resolved drawings. The work that participants take away will provide a bank of ideas for future reference. The course is designed to be fun and to encourage participants to have a go and to explore ideas where the outcome is unpredictable. In previous years, this has produced some exciting and very lovely work.

Materials Costs to Students

£20 which will include a variety of papers and drawing materials.

A selection of papers and mark making materials and implements will be provided, but in addition to these you might like to bring:-
