Within this three day Introduction to Precious Metal Clay course you will learn how to work with Precious Metal Clay (PMC) in a lump & paste form.

You will learn how to handle, manipulate, texture, form, join, file, fire and finish the clay to a professional standard.

We will be making a variety of projects that will include a stone set pendant, a pair of earrings or charms, a simple textured ring band, a silver bead, a silver leaf and more along the way. We will explore how to combine organic materials with the clay and how to combine fireable materials. Both torch firing and kiln firing techniques will be used and explored. Students are encouraged to bring along items that can be used for creating textures and organic forms from the garden.

By the end of the course you will have the confidence and knowledge to explore your own projects and understand the processes used in making precious clay jewellery. All tools, inspiration and materials will be provided throughout the course.

Materials Costs to Students

Approximately £110.00 - Students will pay for what is used on the session dependant on projects & project size.
