Come along to this workshop to learn a little more about the long and fascinating history of the teapot, but more importantly come along to make two small but beautifully formed teapots. Under Debbie’s guidance using hand building methods you will work through each step of making one teapot with coils and the second with slabs of clay. Each teapot will have a different style.

Be prepared to roll your sleeves up and get clay under your nails as Debbie shows you how to make clay coils and use a mould and how to roll out slabs of clay and use a template. Rolling out clay is quite hard work - it will give you a good upper body workout! If this sounds too much for you can make two coiled teapots.

You can decorate your tea pots using underglazes. Debbie will take your teapots to her studio for firing and glazing and return them to the school in approximately 4 weeks

Suitable for beginners and those with experience.

Materials Cost

The tutor will provide all materials and tools and will glaze and fire your work at a cost of £40, with optional postage of £12.
